Intensive Counseling
LSS residential services offer psychological and psychiatric services. In addition, each resident has an on-site clinical therapist working with them and his/her family. Professionals provide individual counseling and a variety of therapeutic groups. Counseling focuses on health and wellness, cognitive behavioral development, social skills, trauma resolution, cultural awareness and addiction recovery.
Treatment Principles
LSS residential services utilize a variety of evidence-based practices to meet the needs of youth in treatment. Additional evidence-based practices used include, but are not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches in both individual and group counseling sessions to address specific issues, Thinking for a Change (T4C), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Reducing the Risk (RTR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), the Darla Henry 3-5-7 Model and general behavior modification interventions.
