Summer Child Care Program
LSS Summer Programs provide a safe and supervised environment for elementary children all summer long. Our summer child care programs combine academic enrichment with cultural and recreational activities that children enjoy. Summer is the time for fun - and learning - all in a safe and supervised setting.
We offer summer child care and education services at multiple Sioux Falls locations with affordable rates. In addition, our Here4Youth location specializes in providing care for youth of all abilities. Here4Youth specializes in after-school care for children with disabilities. And it is available to other area children who can benefit from this type of after-school care.
Summer programs are open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. A morning and afternoon snack are served. Children can bring their own sack lunch or purchase a hot lunch at some locations. We open right away after Sioux Falls schools dismiss for the summer. Then we continue through the summer until school begins again in the fall.
Hands On and Kid Friendly
Our unique and exciting summer program offers school-age students fun and enriching experiences. The children keep learning and preparing for the next school year in ways that are hands-on and child-friendly. Our program uses weekly themes and exciting field trips to frame learning. Kids play a big part in how the week is structured which encourages interaction and leadership.

Kids Are Involved in Planning, Organization
At LSS, we believe it’s very important that children are involved in the planning and organization of daily activities. This participation helps develop leadership skills in young children. It also ensures that summer care for kids is both educational and fun.
Children participate in community service projects, have the opportunity to read daily, and go swimming regularly. We also strive for the right blend of education, activity and citizenry.
