LSS OARN, the Older Adult Resource Network serving Douglas and Charles Mix counties, is pleased to announce Jacqueline Johnson as the new OARN Program Coordinator.
Over the past three years, the OARN Program has assisted more than 120 older adults in accessing resources that support them in aging comfortably at home.
Johnson has more than 30 years of experience in state government, including extensive work with the Department of Social Services. She is looking forward to this new role and will work remotely from a home office in Charles Mix County.
“We are excited to welcome Jacque to LSS! Her knowledge and experience in helping people navigate resources will be invaluable as we continue to work in Douglas and Charles Mix counties and prepare to expand the program into Bon Homme and Hutchinson counties in the coming months,” said Michelle Madsen, Senior Director of Community Services at LSS.
Tanya Urquieta, the first coordinator of the program, will remain on staff with LSS through August 15 before transitioning to a consultant role.
“Tanya has laid a strong foundation for the program. We are appreciative for her leadership in developing this program from concept to operational. We are grateful she will continue to contribute in her new role and impact older adults in rural South Dakota,” said Madsen.
