Learn, Celebrate & Share at Festival of Cultures this June

Celebrate the various cultural communities in South Dakota at the 27th Annual Festival of Cultures on Saturday, June 8.

LSS Multi-Cultural Center is excited to partner with Levitt at the Falls again this year to provide a centralized space to enjoy free live music, learn about languages, customs, and backgrounds, and connect as a community.

"Experiencing the different cultures in our community is an important opportunity that we are proud to provide," says Rebecca Kiesow-Knudsen, CEO and president of LSS. "We’re excited to bring people together to celebrate and learn about the diversity of cultures in our communities.”

Activities will kick off with a children’s Celtic music and dance performer, Maggie in the Meantime, at 10:30 a.m. on the Levitt lawn, followed by six live performances featuring music and dance from East Africa, South Asia, and local Native American groups. The event will close with Salsa Dancing Lessons with Ballroom Dance Academy, a performance by local Reggae band Tuff Roots, a Parade of Flags, and Grammy-winning conjunto band Los Texmaniacs on the Levitt lawn—all beginning at 6:30 p.m.

"We are very excited about our partnership with LSS Multi-Cultural Center and the opportunity to provide a stage for the amazing line-up of diverse performers whose talents bring our community closer together," said Nancy Halverson, President and CEO of Levitt at the Falls.
