Resources & Friendship for Older Adults

Communities are at their best when people of all ages are engaged and supported. Our Older Adult Services help connect you to resources and friendship, so you can maintain your independence and age comfortably at home.

Better Together

Old man talking with young man

Our Better Together team matches adults, or “Neighbors”, age 65 and older with Volunteers who offer companionship, share resources, and build meaningful relationships to help Neighbors maintain connections and socialization as they age. Each match spends four hours a month together, enjoying activities like:

  • Playing cards
  • Going for a walk
  • Watching a movie
  • Grabbing lunch
  • Shopping
  • Catching up over coffee

Older Adult Resource Network

Aging in a rural community can present unique challenges that make it harder to maintain independence. If you live in Bon Homme, Charles Mix, Douglas, and Hutchinson counties, we can help you connect to no-cost services right in your home community.

Through conversations and home visits, we'll help you find support that's tailored to your needs, including:

  • Transportation
  • Food security
  • Social isolation
  • Healthcare
  • Safe housing
  • & more

Complete the form above to enroll or call 605-496-4388 to learn more.

The Older Adult Resource Network program is made possible through a grant from Lutheran Services in America.
