LSS wants you to be safe on the street or if you are without a stable place to stay. There are support services out there to help while you are figuring things out and getting your feet on solid ground. You are not alone. LSS Street Outreach can help you find the resources you need to land on your feet.

Everyone's situation is unique and you won't be judged. Our purpose is to help and keep you safe. Services are provided on your terms and we respect your choices.

Survival Kits That are Free to You

  • Food and water
  • Blankets, socks, coats
  • Backpacks, hygiene products  such as shampoo, soap, dental care, etc.
  • First-aid kits, hand sanitizer and masks
  • Referrals for shelter, health care, STD testing, substance abuse and mental health counseling and available community resources

FOOD

Street Outreach case managers can provide information on organizations that provide meals and access to transportation. If you are 18 and older, Street Outreach can help you apply for government food assistance. In a pinch, LSS Arise Youth Center has snacks, ramen/soup and sometimes gift cards for fast food. Connect with a Street Outreach case manager for available resources.

CLOTHING

Clothing and coats that have been donated may be provided as inventory allows. There are also resources in the community that may help. Connect with a Street Outreach case manager for available resources.

SHOWERS AND HYGIENE

For youth 17 and under, showers are accessible through Arise Youth Center. For those who are 18 and older, services may be available at one of the local homeless assistance programs. Connect with a Street Outreach case manager to schedule or for other available resources.

LAUNDRY

Arise Youth Center has a washer and dryer that can be used by youth served through the Street Outreach Program. Connect with a Street Outreach case manager to set up a time for you to use the laundry machines.

GATEWAY SERVICES

Street Outreach case managers can assist you in setting up services to minimize the steps you may have to access resources. Connect with a Street Outreach case manager if assistance is needed.

TRANSPORTATION

Street Outreach can help identify available transportation resources. They also can assist with transportation to appointments, school, jobs and possibly other places. Connect with a Street Outreach case manager if help with transportation is needed.

JOB SEARCH

Street Outreach case managers can assist with job applications or resumes, prepare for interviews, and provide rides to work until a transportation solution is developed. Connect with a Street Outreach case manager for help in your job search.

HOUSING SUPPORT

Street Outreach case managers can assist in identifying safe housing options, assist with completing needed paperwork, and provide support through the housing process. Youth under age 18 may be eligible to stay at the Arise Youth Center shelter. Connect with a Street Outreach case manager if housing support is needed.

EDUCATION

Education assistance ranges from youth enrollment, troubleshooting school attendance, and a safe place to do homework. For adults, assistance would be similar but could include research for funding and available scholarships. Street Outreach also could help supply backpacks and basic school materials. ID ASSISTANCE

Assistance with accessing identification paperwork is available, including resources for fees that go along with needed documents. Connect with a Street Outreach case manager for assistance.

CULTURAL REFERRALS

Street Outreach case managers provide referrals to agencies that specialize in cultural practices and traditions. Connect with a Street Outreach case manager for referrals.
